For Adults

Adult classes meet each Sunday at 9:30 in our Church Parlor.  New members are always welcome. Studies include the following:

  • Lectio Divina is an approach to Bible study that combines scripture readings, meditation, and discussion. Participants are encouraged to explore themes and ideas that have personal significance for them. Lectio Divina takes place on the first and third Sundays of the month.
  • BIBLE STUDY: This year the adult Bible study will be “A Study of Genesis” led by Jim Kalas. We will be looking at the present day meaning of some of those old, familiar and fascinating stories, such as the Creation, the flood, the life of Abraham and others. This group meets on the second Sunday of the month.
  • FIRST LIGHT: Jesus and the Kingdom of God” video/ discussion group meets on the 4th Sunday of the month.  Join us as we hear from commentators, Marcus Borg and John Dominic Crossan who will lead us in a study of the historical Jesus and the Kingdom of God.  Come and discuss question like: “Why did Jesus happen when and where he happened?  Why were the titles normally accorded Caesar Augustus given to a Jewish peasant on the Palestine plain?  What were the priorities of Jesus’ proclamation of the Kingdom?”  All are welcome!
